This is a standard Luxeon Star LED (Star I, III or V) shown with a Fraen lens. The Fraen lens (as well as the L2 line of lenses) sit right on top of the LED. A holder is needed to hold the lens tight against the LED.
Lenses sit on top of Luxeon Emitter LEDs in the same way.
