The image below shows how to connect to the GSLED's 6' leads. Before connected to the GSLED, be sure that the DC power supply is turned off and then connect the white lead to positive and black lead to negative. You can use any 12V or 24V DC power supply (depending on what voltage your GSLED fixture is rated for) including wall adapters, DC regulated supplies, etc. The current rating of the power supply should be equal to or greater than the current ratings specified on your fixture. A 2A power supply will power any GSLED fixture from 12" to 48". Always be sure to follow your local electrical codes.

The GSLED fixture is mounted using fasteners through the holes on the end brackets into a suitable mounting surface. Note that the brackets may be removed and flipped to achieve a variety of mounting configurations. Once the GSLED is securely mounted, rotate the fixture to the desired direction and tighten screws on both ends of the fixtures.

Are these fixtures dimmable?

Standard GSLED fixtures are not dimmable. Customized versions of this fixture that can be dimmed are available. Click Here for more details.

Can I have different color LEDs installed in the same fixture.

Standard GSLED fixtures are only available with a single color LED. Customized versions of this fixture are available. Click Here for more details.

I have an (14VDC, 18VDC, 28VDC, etc.) power supply. Can I use that power supply, or does it have to be 12VDC or 24VDC?

You must provide either 12VDC or 24VDC input voltage (depending on the fixture that you order). Customized versions of this fixture can be produced to accommodate different input voltages. Click Here for more details.

How much current does the GSLED fixture need? How big should my power supply be?

The current draw of the fixture will depend on the size of fixture that you purchase, but no fixture will require more than 2A.

How far away can the power supply be from the fixture?

The closer the power supply is to the fixture the better, but as long as you use an adequately sized wire, then the power supply can be located any distance away from the fixture. There are a number of voltage drop and wire size calculators available on the Internet. Simply search Google for "voltage drop calculator" or "wire size calculator". To determine the gauge of wire that you should use, enter the voltage of the fixture, the rated current, the distance the fixture is from the power supply, and the calculator should provide the minimum gauge wire you should use. Be sure you are using a calculator for DC single phase voltages, and follow all local electrical building codes.

Can I get different lensing installed in the fixture?

Standard GSLED fixtures are only available with narrow and wide beam optics. Customized versions of this fixtures are available. Click Here for more details.

Are different color finishes available?

Standard GSLED fixtures are only available with a white or black finish. Customized versions of this fixtures are available. Click Here for more details.

Is a DC power supply included with the GSLED fixture?

No. Fixtures are only supplied with flying leads to connect to a 12VDD or 24VDC. regulated power supply. Power supplies can be provided for customized versions of this fixture. Click Here for more details.

How many lights do I need? What is a Lumen? How bright is the light?

As a rule of thumb, one LED is approximately equal to one 10 watt incandescent bulb in brightness. A 12" GSLED is approximately equal to a 60 Watt incandescent because it has 6 LEDs in it. A lumen is a unit of measurement for light. A standard 60-Watt incandescent produces 900 lumens of omni-directional light. A 6 LED fixture produces over 600 lumens of directional light.

How many LED´s does it take to replace a HPS (High Pressure Sodium), Incandescent or Florescent Light?

This can vary for each specific application. Directionality and the physical area that requires illumination play a significant role in determining how many LEDs/fixtures are required, but as a basic rule of thumb a 12" GSLED fixture will provide approximately as much light as a standard 60W incandescent light bulb. A 48" GSLED is equivalent to a 150W HPS lamp.

What is the difference between Cool White and Warm White?

Warm White was developed to mimic an incandescent light bulb and may be a better choice for applications that require a softer light in some display or residential uses. Cool White is more like the color of white that is produced by fluorescent lights. It is 25% brighter than Warm White and is better for applications that require increased illumination or more energy efficient projects. Which color to use where comes down to an individual’s personal preference.

Do you have more detailed photometric data available for the GSLED fixture?

The manufacturer hopes to have additional photometric data available in early 2009. As soon as that information is available, we will post it to our website here.

What happens when the bulb burns out?

LEDs typically do not 'burn out' like standard light bulbs. Rather, they gradually get dimmer over time. GSLED fixtures should retain 70% or more of their brightness for 50,000 hours, possibly for up to 100,000 hours, which is 20 years if operated for 12 hours a day.

How long does it take to get a fixture delivered?

Standard cool white GSLED fixtures are typically shipped within 7-10 business days. Less common LEDs colors and configurations will vary from 2 to 6 weeks.

Can your products be customized?

Yes, Our standard GSLED fixtures do have a number of customizable options that you can select when you order them from our website. With an order of at least 20 units or more we can offer even more custom options to suit your specific application, including dimmability, different colored LEDs in the same fixture, different color fixture finishes, matching power supplies, different methods of connecting to the fixture, different lensing options, etc. Please contact us for more information about extended customization options.

What is your warranty?
