The SW-13-C2 LED module features three series connected LXML-PE01-0070 cyan, Rebel LEDs soldered to a SABER 20mm Tri-Star base.

Using proven MCPCB technology, SABER tri-star LED modules offer a cost-effective, reliable solution for R&D, MROs, OEMs, and Makers/Artists. Wiring connections are made using standard bench top tools and hand soldering techniques.

The SW-13-C2 footprint is one of the most commonly used Tri-LED form factors and is compatible with a full selection of compatible optics.

Thermal Management

The SABER SP-03 Tri-Star module requires careful attention to mounting and cooling to ensure that the junction temperature of the LED is kept well below the maximum rating as specified in the LED documentation published by Lumileds.

For optimal cooling, we recommend that the module be mounted to a suitable finned heat sink (aluminum or copper) that is exposed to open air. The module can be mounted to the heat sink in one of two ways:

Before fastening the module to the heat sink, ensure that the two mating surfaces are perfectly flat and clean in order to maximize heat transfer to the the sink.

Mechanical fasteners are not recommended for this module.

The bottom of the LED module is electrically neutral, so it is not necessary to electrically isolate the base from the cooling surface.

Color Mixing

Looking for a color mixing Tri-Star LED module? Our SW-03 LED module can be ordered with any color combination of Rebel LEDs mounted to a SABER tri-star base. LEDs are powered separately, giving you full independent control of each LED.
